While building your personal brand, it’s also important to learn how to stay up to date with the increasingly digital world we all live in. I have discussed topics related to marketing plans and your audience. Now, I want to change directions a little and talk about how to stay digitally ready in your video advertising industry.
Digital Readiness
Being digital-ready is a concept used to describe your or your company’s ability to implement, adapt, and use digital technologies. According to author and faculty member at Harvard Business, Jeffrey Rayport, the ability to keep up with growing technology is a major part of keeping your business thriving. To analyze this, we will take a look at the following:
Does your business use communication that is not user-friendly?
Do we have an IT department working with us for technical issues?
Does your business rely on face-to-face meetings and fewer emails?
Are these meetings killing time?
Do you lack social media presence and understanding?
Why It Is Important
Asking yourself these questions will help you to understand where your company is standing regarding technology and your application of it. Even as digitally savvy as the video advertising industry is, all can benefit from learning how to utilize their time and technology in their business.
Applying This To Video Advertising
Whether you are working solo, in a team, or large corporation, you can benefit from learning why you need to stay up to date with technology to execute productions effectively. Think of ways your workflow could be improved using the questions listed above. Are there ways you could communicate that would be more efficient? Think of ways you can eliminate the ways your company is spending too much time, and opt for time-saving communication, such as emails. Apply this same strategy to other areas of your company, such as:
Your workflow (Are there more tools that would be efficient?)
Learning new tools (Can you dedicate time to learning new tools?)
AI (Are there jobs or work that AI can do?)
Technology (Are you keeping up with advancements that could help your work?)
Asking these questions and learning how to eliminate time-consuming aspects of your business will help distinguish you from other companies that fail to do so. Whether you are doing content creation, editing, or video advertising, think of ways you and your company can be digitally ready for the world.
